Aging equines

My friend Cass turned me on to a guy named Bill Manns on Facebook.  He  was from Ohio (as we both are as well), but he now lives in New Mexico and posts all sorts of interesting stuff on Facebook.  Check out  his Facebook page -- and if you enjoy his stuff send him a friend request.  He has literally THOUSANDS of friends, so he'll no doubt accept your request automatically.  Anyway, his brother has a gorgeous Arabian horse named "Magic," who is going to be FORTY-FOUR years old  in June!  Can you believe that?!  Here's a news article about Magic when she turned 42 the year before last.

You know, mules are supposed to live a long time, too.  At our age, I'm thinking we might have to put Arthur in our will!  He's only 10 and we're in our 60's so when he hits his 30's we'll be pushing 90!  Hmm.  I think I'd prefer not to think about it from that angle.  Instead, I think I'll concentrate on having him as a companion for the rest of my life!  Now THAT is a much nicer thought.
