Saturday night ALREADY ???

It's been a gorgeous day.  Fairly cool, even.  Mark did a major undertaking and tidied up the garage and I . . . well, the truth be told, I've done absolutely NOTHING.

Well, I did go buy some giant shrimp this afternoon so Mark could cook them on the grill again.  We grilled the ones Buddy and Lisa brought over last weekend and they were soooo good -- we just had to do it again.

And I went by the library to get my card renewed.  But that was it.  Now tomorrow is a whole different ball game.  I'll be getting up at 6 AM tomorrow so I can get over to Zoilo's place by 8:30.  That way I'll be able to spend a couple hours riding before it gets back up in the 90's - I hope.

When Zoilo came by yesterday to trim Duke's and Lizzie's feet, I sent my mounting block home with him so he can get Arthur used to walking up to it and standing still.  I want everything to be easy when Arthur comes home!

Duke was a pain in the butt during yesterday's trim session for some reason.  He kept kicking when Zoilo tried to work on his back feet.  He acted like he was kicking at a fly or something on his tummy -- but there wasn't one.  Not sure what that was all about.  There's not a darned thing wrong with his feet or legs that I can see so he shouldn't have objected.  But Zoilo managed to get it done anyway, thank goodness.

Lizzie, of course, gave him NO trouble.  Lizzie, although she looks just wonderful these days, still seems to be less than comfortable, though, so I'm still holding off riding her.

I sent an e-mail yesterday to Dr. Cleveland, the animal chiropractor that Torri recommended, to try and get an appointment for her.  He comes to Louisiana on a regular basis and has treated Torri's horses and some other horses at a couple places very nearby so I'm sure he will be coming here at some point.  I'll be very anxious to see what he has to say about Lizzie.

Oh, the folks across the street had a garage sale last weekend AND this weekend.  So we finally went over there today to see what they had.  (I got another king comforter I'll be able to use out on the sleeping porch next winter.)  While we were there, they told us that a couple are about to build a 6000 square foot house on the property next to them, catty-corner from us.  Wow!  6000 square feet!  And they're an older retired couple, too.  Ours is 3000 and it feels horrendously large to me.  Those two must REALLY need to be able to get away from each other on a regular basis!

Haven't heard a thing from John about whether they're still considering buying the property next door.

Christine came over and drove Judy home from rehab today.  Hope that works out.  We all think Judy and Oren should be living in an assisted living facility, but they are refusing to do that.  Neither one is able to get around well anymore so I'm not sure how they plan to function alone in their house.  Well, I guess we'll see how it goes.

Wendy said her car is finally undrivable and she is driving a rental car now -- but she still hasn't decided what she wants to buy.  Sigh.  Hope she's car shopping this weekend.

Well, if I'm getting up at dawn, I guess I better get the dogs fed and get ready for bed.
