Barn progress

Okay - half way to the weekend.  And hot.  Hot.  HOT.

Good thing Buddy made it over here Monday to help Mark get that ceiling fan put up in the barn - even though it's not permanently installed yet (until Mark runs the conduit for the permanent wiring).  But watching Buddy up on that wall hammering the thing in place was pretty scary to me.  I know he makes a habit of climbing up in a lot more dangerous places for other jobs, but still . . .  Lisa was keeping an eye out while he was up there, too.

Anyway, the horses are VERY happy with the breeze in there. Duke has stopped sleeping in his own stall and gone over to the middle stall just under the fan! He REALLY likes it.  Happy boy.

You can't see it in those pictures, but those two love birds have both gotten themselves tattoos exhibiting their relationship.  Lisa's is on the back of her left shoulder - covered by her long hair unless she WANTS it seen.  The design has her kids' names around Buddy's.  It's very pretty, actually.

Buddy's is an intricate scroll with their names and the date of their marriage on there.  Very nice.  I think that artist did a fine job -- although it looks to me like it would have been painful!

So at the moment, Mark has been working on completing the interior walls in the barn -- installing the interior plywood at the top of the walls.  Once that's done, it will all get painted white and the bottom 6 feet will be lined with that thick white polyethylene that will make it easy to keep the stalls clean - and impossible for the horses to rub against the walls and get splinters - or even to kick and make dents.

Oh, good news -- apparently that infection Judy has is NOT one of those really dangerous kinds.   They're planning to allow her to go home this Saturday.   Yippee!   (I know Oren will be happy about that - for more than one reason!)
