Just a minute or so after my alarm went off at 5:45 it suddenly began to POUR down rain. Just instantly! But I kind of enjoy listening to heavy rain out there on the porch so I turned off my alarm and lay there for a minute. Unfortunately, I enjoyed it so much that I fell back to sleep and didn't wake up until 20 after 6. NOT good. So I jumped up and started letting the dogs out. Boo and Rocky - fine. Joey? Nope. He absolutely REFUSED to go out in the heavy rain. So I went ahead and headed for the barn and fed the horses. THAT took a while, too, since apparently Lizzie had stayed in her stall all night so I had a LOT of "tidying up" to do in there before feeding her. When I got back inside, that portion of the storm had passed and it was barely drizzling so I went to let Joey out again and . . . yep -- he had gone on the floor over by the bedside table. So I not only had to clean up the floor, I had to clean under the nightstand AND clean off all the cords behind the stand -- the phone, the light, the heated mattress pad, the radio . . . grrrrrr! By the time I finally got ready to head for work, it was after 8 so I didn't even bother to drop off Joey at therapy today. But I was still a half hour late for work! (It had started pouring down rain again and the traffic was AWFUL!)
THEN, when I got to work, I had half a dozen e-mails from my boss about an application LSU wants filed by FRIDAY waiting for me. That filing would be "iffy" enough under normal circumstances, but I happen to have two OTHER applications I need to have done in just a few days - both of which have dozens of drawings and sequences . . . MUCH more time consuming than a standard app.
Well anyway. Now that I'm done venting I'll relax and go eat lunch and I'll feel better.
(I love my job. I love my job. I love my job. I love Joey. I love Joey. I love Joey.)
Sigh.
