So much for my upcoming long weekend

Lost a crown Monday night so I went to the dentist this morning to get it put back on.  No such luck.  It didn't just "come off," it broke off.  I'm going to have to have one of those crowns that are installed over a pin put in instead.  Yuk.  AND I need another two crowns right next to that one.  So my MLK day off on Monday will be spent at the dentist having three crowns prepared.  Not exactly something to look forward to.  But at least I won't have to use up vacation for it, and we do have a fair amount of money left in our cafeteria plan from last year that needs to be spent before March.  Three crowns should certainly take care of that little leftover cash problem!

Not sure what's up with the local water supply.  The water faucets and waterers were back on at the barn this morning, but now instead of just a few hundred feet of water pipe laid out along the road, there are several 20-foot-high piles of water pipe stacked at the beginning of the road -- enough to do an entire subdivision.  No idea what they're up to.  Guess I'll just be sure all those water containers in the pasture stay filled to the top "in case" and not worry about it.

Took the blankets off everyone last night to check and make sure there were no problems developing under there.  There weren't.  In fact, I'm thinking I may get Lizzie one of those "sheets" for warm weather so I can keep SOMETHING on her all the time.  She hasn't looked this tidy since I got her!  She normally STAYS caked with mud, but the blanket has kept her pristine for almost a month now!  I love it!  Doesn't take any longer to groom her than anyone else any more!

Torrie is talking about moving her remaining horses out to a boarding facility near their new house on the other side of town.  They charge $50 a month more per horse than Al's place, but there are run-in shelters in each paddock so there's no need to go get the horses and haul them inside when it storms.   And I think she said there's also a covered arena.  Wow!  Riding in bad weather -- what a concept!   If she does move them, I would finally have enough stalls for all our horses and wouldn't have to decide who has to stand outside when it storms any longer.   It's not the rain that's a problem.  The main pasture there at Al's is under one of those enormous power lines with the rows of towers.  I worry about the horses being out there anytime there's a lightening storm.  And the other pastures are very wooded so I worry about limbs falling on them if they're in those.   That's why I go bring them in when it storms -- except, as I mentioned, that one has to stay outside currently.  I'll be so glad when that's no longer true.
