Weekend Warrior

Okay. I’m posting this now so that I won’t be tempted to backslide and forget the whole thing.

T H I S     W E E K E N D       I    A M    G O I N G    T O    
O R G A N I Z E    T H I S    O F F I C E !!!!

We have EIGHT file cabinets in here, as well as a number of labeled boxes for temporary sorting. So why does this place still look like the overflow from a dumpster??  Guilty.   It’s all my fault. We get mail. I pile it up to look through “later.”   I find info on the internet that I think I may need later and I print it out and set it aside to file "later."  We buy things and I lay the manuals and instructions down so I can read through it all before I file them away. But if I can manage to use the “whatever-it-is-we-just-bought” without benefit of the instructions, the papers and manuals remain piled on the desk or table or wherever instead of getting filed. And eventually they end up buried beneath the papers from subsequent purchases. Which is why when something DOES go wrong, the necessary info is never in the file where it belongs. So although January 14 may be a BIT late for resolutions, nevertheless I hereby resolve to CLEAN UP THIS OFFICE beginning this weekend. 
This is poor Mark's desk - buried under piles of my "stuff" since there was no more room on my own desk (on the right side of this photo).  




Here's another view of MY desk.  All that stuff on the floor to the right of it got piled in front of the closet door during the clean-up of the rest of the place before our Christmas company arrived.  Well -- at least it's kept the closet itself pristine since there's no longer any way to actually get in there!


And THIS is the 8-foot-long table across the room from our desks where the CD jukebox and the home theater are supposed to reside.  The components have been piled up there for months but they're still not hooked up.  Sigh.

Scary, huh???
