It's been a loooong week. I've had a virus for the past two weeks that I've been having trouble getting past, but I'm finally feeling pretty good -- unfortunately I gave it to Mark before he left for work, but his iron-clad immune system will no doubt throw it off sooner than mine did.
Then there was that incident Tuesday when I dropped the computer case on my foot causing me to limp around all week. Saw the foot doctor this morning and he says it'll be fine -- nothing to do but wait and see what happens.
And several of the dogs have also been sick the last two days, throwing up each time they eat. Once they do, though, they seem to feel just fine so I guess I'll go get a new bag of dog food and see if that takes care of it. If it were just ONE dog, I'd take it to the vet, but three ... and after each meal ... could be moldy dog food or some such thing. We'll see. I just don't have it in me at the moment to go sit in the vet's office for half a day tomorrow. (He doesn't take appointments -- you just have to hang out and wait your turn.)
Okay - so maybe all this falls under the "too much information" category. Let's move on to cheerier things.
Our kitchen island is completely covered with supplies for making Christmas cookies and other baked goodies. Given that the island is 6 X 10, that's a LOT of supplies! But I simply could not think of a thing to give anyone other than food. Everyone likes Christmas treats. And if they don't, they can always feed them to THEIR guests. So my weekend plans are set. Feed horses, bake, feed dogs, bake, kick back with some of the treats and read the draft of the book my friend Janet is writing (I'm REALLY looking forward to that), feed horses again, bake some more. And Vickie and John will be coming in tonight from DC so I'll have plenty of company -- maybe even some help with the baking. Or at least some suggestions as to what kind of things might be good to make. Not bad. Even though I virtually NEVER cook -- and certainly not for fun, I think this might just be a really fun weekend!
