Just talked to Mark and he told me his company is closing down his rig because the cost of oil and gas has gone down so far that no one wants to rent the rig to do a search for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. Hmmm. No telling just yet whether he will be able to keep his job with that rig closed down -- or not.
That, combined with the fact that his truck that got hit on his way home is apparently going to be destroyed instead of fixed up by the insurance company, so he will have to buy another vehicle . . . so it looks like there may not be enough money to get the house paid for as soon as we had planned. NOT good since the house needs to be paid off before we can retire.
If he can't keep his rig job, though, that will be a huge problem because he definitely will have to retire right now anyway. Good grief! Wonder what it's going to take to get everything worked out. Oh well -- who knows, but I'm sure we'll figure out SOMETHING . . . I hope so anyway.
