Mark and I have been trying to decide for quite a while now what social security additional insurance would be the best. But suddenly we HAVE to decide since we will be losing our current insurance in March, now that Mark no longer has his job.
We switched out all our homeowner's insurance and our car insurance to USAA a couple months ago since they insure previous military people for quite a reasonable price. Well, as it turns out, they also have the social security additional insurance available, so I guess we'll just go ahead and have ALL of our insurance for virtually everything (except the dogs and horses, of course) through them! Great! That way we can just contact the same people every time we want to find out about anything at all. All you people who used to be in the military (or if you married one who was!), maybe you should check them out as well. They're doing a fine job!
They finally determined that Mark's car that got hit last month couldn't be fixed. And although the guy who hit him showed the police an insurance card, the fact was that the family that got that insurance never continued to pay it! . . . they apparently only got it because they are in our country illegally from Mexico the police think! And no one has been able to find them again. Well anyway, since that insurance won't deal with things, Mark is going to be paid enough by USAA that he will be able to buy another Expedition EXACTLY like the one that got hit -- except that this new one he found is much tidier and with much fewer miles on it. Great! I am SO glad he was able to find that. We need something that can pull a horse trailer but he didn't want a regular truck because it's great to be able to pick things up and put them inside the Expedition whether it's raining or not! And the dogs can all be stuck in there together if necessary as well, since when both rows of back seats are folded down the entire area behind the front seat is a nice flat space up high enough that they can lay down and look out the windows -- something they CAN'T do in my truck where they have to be way down on the floor instead. So it's great that he can get another one just like the one he had. Love it!
Well, he's going over to the dealer who has that Expedition later today and he'll take it somewhere to get it checked out, then he'll go ahead and buy it. Excellent!
And now, as soon as we get our new health insurance dealt with our life will be back to "do whatever you want whenever you want" very soon! Looking forward to THAT!!
