Good grief! PLENTY of ad responses!

Put an ad in Craigslist for some help cleaning up the pasture and the barn since Mark and I are both currently having back problems.  I was just hoping I'd get an answer eventually.  Ha!  I put that ad in yesterday and this morning when I woke up I had DOZENS of e-mail responses!!  So many that I went in and deleted it from Craigslist after only half a day!  Here's the ad:

Couldn't believe how many responses I got!  I even got a number of responses from LSU grad students and vet school folks.  Love that!  So I'm taking tomorrow off so I can talk with several of them.  One of the guys who called immediately after I posted is coming by first thing tomorrow morning (he's a security guard 3 days a week over at that new L'Auberge Casino just a short distance up the River Road from us).  And another is coming by on Saturday.  He's an LSU grad student who's also a serious bike rider who has ridden by our place frequently.  So he's probably plenty sturdy enough, too!

But then I read a note from a woman who is a vet tech at  LSU Vet School.  She's worked at other horse facilities including Liveoak Arabians!  I wrote back to her asking her to give me a call so we can get together.  Even if one of those guys does clean up the barn and pasture, I think I'd still love to have her just come work with the horses.   She said she'll give me a call this evening after she gets off work.  And that was AFTER I told her what the salary would be.  That's a relief.  (It's no doubt less than Liveoak Arabians!)

Anyway, once everything gets cleaned up, Mark will be able to level out the paddocks and then we'll be able to have them covered with sand so  Duke and Arthur don't get so darned muddy anymore.

Progress.
