Here we go AGAIN . . . tomorrow is supposed to have ice on the roads all over South Louisiana. Hey - come ON! . . . that's just not supposed to happen down here to begin with, let alone TWICE in a week. Check out Saturday's front page:
But on the plus side, I just got a note this afternoon saying that our office is going to be closed tomorrow, and possibly on Wednesday, as well! I'll just have to call in after 6 AM Wednesday to see if it's going to open back up yet.
Well, the good thing about all this is that Mark will probably not be able to go back to work tomorrow night either! So we'll get to spend another whole day at home together . . . always a fine thing!
I AM at work today. I talked to Mark just after lunch, and Carl had come by this morning around 9 AM and was STILL there helping Mark with all sort of things. Sure is great to have him around, that's for sure! Wonder if L'Auberge will give him a room when he gets off work so he won't have to drive clear up to North Baton Rouge after midnight -- NOT a good thing to have to do either tonight OR tomorrow night! I sure hope they will.
Well, one thing we will be doing SOON -- we'll be putting a handrail on both the front porch steps and the ramp down the side of the porch toward the barn. That ramp was put there for the golf cart so it could be parked up on the side of the porch and plugged in up there, then just driven down when needed. But we generally walk down that ramp because it's over on the side going toward the barn. I slipped and fell on it once already and consequently added non-slip pieces to it, but when it sleets, even those pieces are as slippery as ice! So we definitely need to install handrails in both places before we manage to break our necks!
