Pictures in the middle of the night . . .

Well, I went to bed early as usual, and woke up again at midnight -- also as usual.  But I haven't been able to get back to sleep tonight.  So I'm (finally!) going to post those pictures Wendy sent last week.  They were taken at the family reunion down in Kentucky.

This is the church where Dale and Shirley were married at Christmas so many years ago.  Judging from that photo, that area doesn't look a bit different today.

And of course everyone was riding down there.  Shirley's family has plenty of horses and it's obviously a lovely place to ride, isn't it?
They're getting ready here to go out of the pasture into the woods through that gate back there.

That's a very wide path -- wide enough that people can actually ride together instead of in a row.  Nice.

Here's Wendy getting ready to ride out on "Hank" - cute huh? . . . both of them!

Obviously Wendy took all these trail pictures from Hank's back!
Sure is lovely down there.

As for me, I haven't been taking pictures continually as I usually do.  Jerry has done SO much around here -- I really need to do that.  Well, I did take some pictures of the plant area in front of the porch.  But we obviously need to do some rearranging out there --

You can barely see it there in the background on the right,
but the barn has gotten painted and matches the house now.
(You might also see that the cat likes to lay in that wicker rocker on the porch.
Odd -- you'd THINK she'd prefer a chair that didn't move, wouldn't you?)

Those ferns that were little hanging baskets have gotten to be about three feet high and are taking over everything out there!   Note that those brick steps are even with those posts but the ferns are leaning over them by a good two feet or more on that left side!

And you can barely see anymore that there are several azaleas and gardenias in there.  What I'd LIKE to get Jerry to do one of these days is dig up those ferns closest the steps and move some down there to the end nearest the garage that's empty, and some over on the right side of the steps.

On the other hand, you CAN still see the azaleas on that right side still.  Hmm.  Decisions, decisions . . .

You know, looking at these pictures, it reminds me that I really REALLY need to get those boxes of books over to Goodwill.  They've been sitting out there for a couple of MONTHS!

Here she is in that rocker again - taken a different day when the chair was in a different place.
Doesn't matter to her.  She'll climb up there no matter WHERE it is!)
Okay, it's almost 2 AM.  Time to go back to bed and try and sleep again.  Thank heaven it IS Friday.  I can get through ONE day without a lot of sleep, but not more than that!  If I don't get back to sleep tonight, I can nap Saturday afternoon!
