Back on line today . . .

I do love our own house, but for the first time in years I've seen one that I think I'd actually love even more.  I want this house!!  The only thing I would do differently -- other than adding a nice horse barn, of course! -- is screen in that dining porch.  (This IS Louisiana, after all, with plenty of mosquitoes hoping to join you for your outdoor dinner.)

This is the layout.  They used that darker area as a vacation cottage for years.
Then when they retired they added all that additional space to make it a permanent home.  Love it!

Isn't it lovely?  And VERY private.

Here's that dining porch that I would definitely have screened in if I were them.

Gotta love that kitchen that can be opened up completely to that gorgeous screened front porch!

And here is that inside dining room that can be opened to that dining porch --
yet another reason for screening that thing in!
And here's another view of that screened front porch.
(There's a TV behind those doors over the fireplace.)

Don't know if you're familiar with the Houzz website, but once you register, they send a lengthy e-mail once a week with connections to the most fascinating pictures of all sorts of houses and interior decors and landscapes.  Really really interesting stuff.  Sign up and they'll send you a listing of photo subjects each week, too!  And you'll be surprised to find that you can do a search for virtually anything home-related and you'll get dozens if not hundreds of photos of whatever-it-is!  I first came across that site when I did a search for dutch doors online.  (Houzz had a couple hundred pictures of those!)

Another site that's great for pictures, too, of whatever you want to see (or even recipes, for that matter) is "Pinterest.

I did a search earlier on there for Icelandic horses.  My boss up in Cinci used to import and breed Icelandics and I love the way they look.  I'd have one myself except that they have skin problems living in the humid south.  Anyway, I love that they are short and stocky and have looooong manes.  They're just gorgeous.  Here are a few of those pictures they have on Pinterest:

Cute, huh?  Anyway, there's not much of anything you can't find a PILE of pictures of on that site.  And of course you can post your own, too.  Nice site.

Thought I'd try dutch doors on Pinterest, too, just to see . . .  All the horses have dutch doors these days, but I don't.  Wish I did.  I'd love to have one between the livingroom and the master bedroom so the dogs could be kept where they need to be without the door being completely closed all the time.  Hmmm.  Something to think about.

Obviously, pictures of virtually everything are available on Pinterest, too!  Okay.  Enough.  Back to work.
