Well, it didn't take ME long to replace my laptop . . .
While I was watching TV and playing Solitaire last night the screen suddenly went black. I had been considering having it repaired anyway because after I accidentally got a search app that insisted upon replacing Google a while back, I managed to delete darned near everything while trying to get rid of it! I finally did get it deleted, but after that the laptop wouldn't go online wirelessly -- only if I plugged it in directly to the router. Obviously, I must have deleted something critical. Sigh.
Well, now that it's out like a light, so to speak, I went to Amazon and got myself a refurbished one. It's nice that it was significantly less expensive than a brand new one, but the main reason I got it instead of new one was so I could have Windows 7 and NOT Windows 8! Windows 8 came on Mark's newest computer and we BOTH hate it! It's incredibly annoying. I guess down the road I'll have to deal with that, too, but since I can't stand it at the moment, I'm not going to use it until I have absolutely NO choice!
What I got was an HP Pavilion G7-1261NR 17.3" Laptop (2.5-1.9GHZ AMD A4-3300m Processor, 6GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, SuperMulti DVD Burner + Blu-ray, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit).
It may not be absolutely top of the line, but on the other hand, it was only a few hundred dollars and not $1200 either!
Now it's going to be a week or more before it arrives. Don't know if I can watch TV without a computer in my lap! We'll have to see. (I may have to watch TV from the office instead!)
