Weekend and short week coming up!

Got in here to work this morning at 7 AM so I'm going to get to begin my weekend SOON - say 3 o'clock, probably -- although I DO have overtime this week so I could take off sooner if I were done . . . unfortunately, I'm not.

Mark began his rig move an hour or so ago so I won't get to talk to him again until Sunday evening!  Soooo strange to spend an entire weekend without any contact.  We have been talking and e-mailing a few times a day every day for the entire soon-to-be 16 years we've been married!  It's going to be a VERY lonely weekend!   But I only have 3 days to work next week, then a nice loooong weekend after Mark gets home.  Lovely.

The new "David" (Shaun) will be over this weekend though to work on completing some of the barn structure that's necessary before we can get gutters put on. Actually, there are several different steps we're gong to have to deal with before getting those gutters installed.  He has to seal up the ends of the eaves, then we need to pressure wash all the wood trim so that we can paint all of it with Kilz so the wood UNDER the gutters won't eventually rot.  And while we're pressure washing the trim, we will also pressure wash the cement-board siding so that it can also be painted that nice light blue that we painted the front of the barn more than a year ago!  Of course THAT means that the hay on the porch will have to be moved until the painting is done.  Maybe I'll just pile a couple of bales in each stall with the tie still on them.  What the heck.  If they tear them apart, well -- better eat the stuff, guys!

Anyway, after all THAT is done, we'll be able to move on to building a first dutch stall door using that solid core 4 X 9 door that I ordered, I hope.  Home Depot said it would be here sometime in the first half of July.  But they also said that orders from that company are often "delayed" so -- we'll see.

Shaun is also working on re-doing those drawers in the kitchen that David left unfinished.  He took the fronts off of them yesterday and took them home with him to re-make them in solid wood.  (Don't even ask . . . that was necessary.)

So I guess while he's working on all of that, I'll work on washing my clothes -- something I don't get to but once a month . . . and then it takes me ALL weekend.  (The result of a super-large master closet, unfortunately.)  But all of that should keep me busy enough that I won't feel TOO sorry for myself not having contact with Mark.  Hey - maybe Wendy will call and update me on HER interesting life currently.

Once Mark gets home though, he's scheduled to go back to Oschner's and get his stents rechecked.  He had a work-out exam a couple weeks ago and then last week they notified him that one of his stents is probably blocked.  That may well be true since he's way more tired these days than he was after those stents were first put in.  So although it makes me pretty nervous to have him going through all that again, I really hope they can get things back to the way they were a year or so ago for him.  I want him to feel as "young" (ahem) as I do currently!
