Weekend work plan --

Okay!  Mark got Jerry to come get that giant black microwave early this morning, so now I can at least clear off the island today.  I guess I'll go get some drywall repair stuff, too.  Mark found a couple of containers of it out in the garage before he went back to work, but when I got ready to use it this week, one of them had hardened like concrete and the other was apparently moldy -- it had really yukky-looking black stuff all over the top of it !  Obviously those have been trashed!  So I think I'll get a tiny container that I can just throw out when I'm done this time!

Where the backsplash was removed in the dining room, there's a small hole and several scratches that need repaired, and then I can re-paint that wall.

I guess.  Or maybe I should wait since I want Mark (or David . . . or SOMEONE) to put in an electrical outlet above the counter over there.

I DO love that vessel sink!
In fact, that dining room counter might actually be the best place for that new microwave.

Then we'd still have loads of counter space in the kitchen area itself.
Kitchen counter without the microwave looks MUCH better.
And that microwave over by the dining room table would be handy for heating plates of food or things we would be eating in the dining room.  But we WOULD need to plug it in!  I don't know -- I guess I'll check with Mark when he calls after while and see what he thinks.

According to the weather guy, once again St. Gabriel got twice the rain that most of the rest of the city got early Friday morning (4.3" in 2 hours).

Haven't heard what we got in this morning's storm, but it was probably very much the same.  The pond is overflowing once again and the paddocks are all extremely muddy messes.

The horses are going to have to stay in there until tomorrow anyway.  I really don't want them tromping around out there while the ground is soaking wet making hoof holes all over the place that will kill the grass.  It's true that we do plan to revise the paddocks, but in the meantime it WOULD be nice if they had SOME grass left!

Maybe when I run over to get that sheetrock repair stuff, I'll stop over at the new nearby Goodwill store and see if I can find some slacks and jeans that fit me at the moment.  I'm not going to go buy anything new until I reach the weight I plan to make permanent, so . . . "used" is fine.  In fact, I may as well drop off the stuff that doesn't fit me at the moment while I'm at it.  For some reason my waist doesn't seem to be getting a bit smaller (sigh) so I hadn't been all that anxious about switching out my slacks, but Mark did say they look pretty baggy on my now-thinner legs so I guess I probably need to try and find something that fits a BIT better.

I would have liked to run up to meet Jan and Mike's "Gus" today, but Jan ran up to Mississippi to visit her mom and dad today, so I guess I'll hold off until next weekend.

In the meantime, enough of this -- I need to get OUT of this office and INTO that kitchen that desperately needs tidying up!
