Loooong week . . .

Wow - what a WEEK!  As I said earlier, I did get MY office moved back on the Monday before last, then Jeanne got hers moved over last weekend, and Julie, our secretary, finally got moved the first of this week.  But John - soon to be our ONLY patent attorney - didn't get moved until yesterday!

In the meantime, Julie  and the office assistants moved cabinet after cabinet after cabinet full of files.  I think they put about a quarter of them into storage but there were still more to move than there's  room for.  They filled up every empty wall space with floor to ceiling file cabinets over the past week and a half.  And we're still waiting for them to find a couple more smaller file cabinets that are four feet or shorter for a couple of remaining small spaces.

AND today was Jeanne's (our other patent attorney's) last day.  Yikes!  She's retiring so she and her husband can do a lot of world traveling.  I'm jealous.  Well . . . yes, about not having to work, but not really in that traveling sense.  Even if I were to retire, I couldn't do much traveling anyway.  Who the heck could we find to take care of our 2 and 1/2 horses, 3 dogs, and 3 cats??  Of course Torri has always been really really good about that, but she's VERY pregnant now so I doubt that she will be hiring out to pet-sit at all anymore.  And besides, both their own land and Al's place are full of Torri and Daniel's horses -- so they no doubt already have enough of their own work to do!! . . . MORE than enough!

Today was particularly . . . "interesting," though.  Jeanne was working like crazy, trying to get as much out of the way as possible before leaving everything else for John to deal with.  So we filed a couple of applications and responded to a Notice complaining because we hadn't filed a sequence listing on three short 4-letter sequences mentioned in passing in an application.  So I did a quick sequence listing and then we added a Certificate of Micro Entity Status -- something we're having to do with almost every filing on applications for LSU.  I'm sure in another week or two that won't be a problem -- I'll have done it a dozen of times by then -- but all the Patent Office rule changes beginning this month, combined with all those other changes lately, have been quite a challenge!

But hey . . . all that is over for now.  At the moment we're looking at a nice loooong weekend with Mark finally home again since yesterday, and really gorgeous weather at least until Sunday.

Life is good.
