Not a bad Monday --

First announcement - I lost 9.5 pounds in my first "cut back" week.  Not bad at all!  Hope that was a real loss of fat, and not just a lower amount of "current food" being weighed.  But I'm sure I'll find out eventually.

Second, we went over to meet Jan and Mike's "Bubba" yesterday.  He is such a sweetheart!  He does resemble Duke at a distance, but close up his coat is slightly different - more white hair in there - and his face is much more refined.
He does resemble Duke from a distance - but he has that white hair mixed in with his sorrel color - forget what that's called -- but you can see it well there on his tummy.

He's a VERY pretty boy.

He actually looks like he's smiling, doesn't he?
NOT how any of our 'horses would look when saddled.  ;-D
He had been stuck in a field with absolutely NO cover of any sort when they bought him - no trees or shelters or anything - so with a white face, he has serious sunburn at the moment.  But he's going to look just FINE once he's lived at their place for a few months, you can count on that!
Here he is riding by Knight - who is generally VERY aggressive toward any new horse.
But even Knight is fine with Bubba.  He MUST be a sweet boy.

Unlike a lot of horses, he's standing there WAITING for instructions to head out.
An altogether fine horse.  Much, MUCH less schizy than Mike's Dixie, for sure.
Jan said Bubba is what I should have acquired instead of Arthur.  Probably true.  Sigh.  But on the other hand, Duke is EXTREMELY happy to have Arthur around.  In fact, Mark and I have begun to wonder if they're not actually gay!!  The two of them go into Duke's stall at night and lay down in there together!  The thing is only 10 X 12!  They have GOT to be VERY good friends!!!

And in fact, I am happy with Arthur - even if I can't actually deal with him the way Zoilo did.  Sigh.

Mark and I also got into Jesse Stone movies this weekend.  We watched the first three and now I've put the second three on "hold" from the library for next weekend.  Then there will be three or four more left for when Mark gets home again next time!  AND, even though the Robert B. Parker author has died, Michael Brandman is continuing the series.  Yeaaaa!   They're saying there will be still another one later this year.  Sure hope so!
