Rain, rain, rain ...

Yep - it's going to rain this entire week - and storm big time late tonight, according to the weather.  That, combined with temperatures close to 80, means it's REALLY muggy down here.  But I keep reminding myself that it's STILL way better than ice and snow -- especially now that the place is graded so we don't flood!   And it'll only be a few  more days.  The weekend is supposed to be really nice.

Today: warm, windy, 50-50 chance rain/storms, a high of 78
Tonight: showers/storms likely, slight risk for severe weather, a low of 64
Tomorrow: showers/storms likely, SW winds 5 - 15 mph; a high of 73
Tomorrow PM: 20% chance of light rain, cooler, clearing late
Friday: AM partly cloudy; PM more sunshine; a high of 64
Normal High for January 25: 63 degrees
Normal Low for January 25: 41 degrees
Record High: 85, set in 1909
Record Low: 17, set in 1963
As of late morning, several parishes across north central and southwestern Louisiana have already been placed under a "tornado watch" - as of yet, that "watch" area does *not* include southeast Louisiana (metro BR) or southern Mississippi. Nonetheless, a potent storm system is on the move, out of eastern Texas and into our state later today .... bringing scattered showers/storms into our viewing area by late this afternoon/evening.
We also have the risk of severe weather during the overnight hours - predawn - early morning Thursday. The main threat appears to be damaging winds but an isolated tornado can't be ruled out.
Good news, though, cooler temperatures and clearing skies will return just in time for the weekend!

Now if any tornado that's created when that approaching cold front hits our heat will just skip us . . .

NOTE:  Just got an e-mail about the weather -- tornado watch until 9 PM.  (Fingers crossed.)
