Quite a night!

As usual, I slept outside on the porch last night.  That generally means I sleep straight through without waking up.  But not last night!  Whew!  About 3 AM I sat straight up in bed - my closed eyes felt like I'd looked directly at the sun and it sounded like a bomb had exploded.  I can't remember when I've seen that much lightening and thunder.  Even Lizzie went into her stall -- and she usually likes being rained on!  And all the dogs were awake and pacing.  Rocky couldn't decide whether to come outside where I was or stay inside where the noise was at least a little muffled.  The rain itself was no heavier than usual, but wow - SO much lightening!

When I listened to the news this morning on the way to work (in the fog - again), I heard that when that storm got over to Alabama it brought along some tornadoes and a number of people were killed.  Scary.

It's cleared out now, but I hear it's going to storm again tonight and all day tomorrow.  Then again Wednesday night.  Then again Thursday night.  Duke is NOT going to be happy that he won't be allowed out of his paddock all week.  But then again, when he gets turned out this weekend I WILL have my camera handy this time.
