Mark is on his way back out to the rig as we speak (in his OLD car - still no word from the company about that truck he's "SUPPOSED" to be getting),
and I am about to head out to the barn to feed the horses and tidy up the stalls. Duke is well aware that it's time for supper. I let a dog out a couple minutes ago and there he was, standing right outside the back door staring at the house to see if the "chef" was on her way out yet. (Soon, Duke, soon . . . )
When I got home a little while ago, I checked out that sand that was delivered earlier, and I could see right away that there wouldn't be a problem with Duke trying to fool with it. It's very soft and the moment anyone even touches it, it spreads out. No climbing on THAT stuff - even by the cat, I think.
I think I'm going to check with Buddy and see if he'd like to come help spread the stuff out one day this week so that when they come over Saturday they'll have time to fool with horses instead of sand. It's supposed to be dry all week, so the ground should be dry enough to allow riding again this weekend.
I get to start getting up at 5:30 in the morning again starting tomorrow -- oh boy, oh boy. ;-D
But life feels really good again, actually. The weather is gorgeous. The house is tidy - a result of the preparation for holiday company, NOT because I'm neat. And (fingers crossed) everyone here is feeling GOOD! Even me. Excellent.
Oh - and when I opened my calendar to schedule something earlier, I noticed that Daylight Saving Time kicks back in in just two months! Life is good!
