Wow! Did we ever get LUCKY!!!

Just spent the last hour visiting with Buddy and Lisa - the couple who answered the ad I placed on CraigsList for help tidying up the pastures and the horses - and I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to have found them.

They are not only going to be able to give us exactly the help we need, but I feel like we also have quite a lot in common. They've known each other since they were kids.  But they each  married someone else and raised children.  Then just a couple years ago they got back together and got married - so theirs was a very "mature" marriage just as ours was.  And they seem to very much want to spend their weekends together, even if they just spend the day making some extra money.  I can understand that.  And I'd like to think they could actually enjoy helping us out over here.

I guess Lisa will help Buddy clean up the pastures, but then when that's done, I think he will be helping  Mark finish up the barn, and she will probably help me groom the horses or whatever I need help doing.  That should be just perfect.

But here's the REALLY amazing part -- Buddy has ridden, trained and shown WALKING HORSES from the time he was a teenager and he is actually looking forward to helping exercise our horses!  It is absolutely wonderful that someone who actually knows how to deal with gaited horses will be  riding ours!  I've looked for ages for someone to help train them and/or teach us, but I was never able to find anyone around here who knows anything at all about gaited horses.  Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses -- that's about all there is.  So I'd pretty much given up. And now? . . .  the guy who answered our ad just to help clean up the pasture turns out to be good at ALL those things!  AND happy to do it!   The Universe provides.

Oh - and he said that twice a year they go up to one of the plantation houses in St. Francisville and clean all the windows for them.  (Hey -- maybe the windows on our second will   actually end up clean at last!)

It's nothing short of amazing to me that the very day I put that ad on CraigsList, they contacted us.  How amazing that they happened to be looking around on there right at that particular time.  I did get some other responses, but there was no question in my mind who I wanted to get back to.  I'm really looking forward to getting to know them.  They both seem like genuinely nice people.
