I was trying to locate Ladybug again yesterday and walked back over there to the far side of the house. No Bug . . . but there was Duke -- eating bushes along that fence line AGAIN!
But wait -- I had trimmed back all those red-tip photinia bushes before, so NOW what's he eating?? Got up there closer and discovered that he was actually eating the Holly bush! . . . thorns and all!! Can you believe that!!
I swear, that boy is SO bad! So I did the obvious -- I got rid of yet another bush.
That pile there is what USED to be the holly bush. No more! |
While I was over there trimming back the holly I discovered a couple OTHER things. First of all, Bug seems to have decided on a second bathroom facility for herself. I thought she was going back over to her paddock when she had to go since I never see any piles anywhere in the front yard, but in fact it seems she's been going BEHIND those bushes over there along the chain link fence. (She's such a tidy girl.) Hey -- that works for me. It's not visible from anywhere - and it's probably very good for the bushes, too!
But another thing I noticed over there is that there is SOMETHING living in the ground there. No idea what it is, but whatever it is -- it's LARGE. That hole is more than a foot wide. Hope whatever it is doesn't bite horses! Mark says it's probably an armadillo, though, so I guess that's not a hazard to Bug. In fact, if she sees it, she's probably going to be the hazard to IT!
