Okay, I give up. I'm going to add the "Garage Cat" to our list of kitties. She obviously believes that she's in charge around here anyway. Might as well comply. Here she is hanging out next to me on the front porch. We were keeping an eye on the horses when they got turned out into the front yard the first time.
In the picture below, taken last winter, she's in the garage sleeping among a sofa cushion that Joey ate the zipper out of, a stuffed bear that another dog tore up, and a torn mattress pad. You probably can't tell in the pictures, but the girl is enormous and she can be VERY aggressive. The fact that we had 7 dogs at the time she arrived meant absolutely nothing to her. And because she has absolutely NO fear, none of them have ever tried to hurt her. She winds through their legs and rubs against their faces anytime any of them come around her. She's no doubt the reason no other cats have shown up since she decided to live here. I've seen her run other cats off more than once.
Here she is in warm weather. In the summer, she likes to sleep on top of a vehicle. In this case, Mark stuck a jacket up on top of his old Mercedes so she wouldn't scratch the roof before he gets a chance to sell it one of these days.
I guess I need to give up and give her an actual name - and give her her shots this year. Apparently she has already been spayed or we would have had kittens by now.
Before we started leaving one of the garage doors up about 6 inches so she could go inside, she used to come to the front door and scream and scratch at the sidelights if she was hungry. After we opened the garage and put her food on top of the freezer, she started to do her carrying on out there - thankfully! But if she doesn't get home until after we're in bed, and her bowls aren't filled, she inevitably finds SOME way to notify us from someplace else. She's very emphatic about her desires, believe me! I think the next time she does that "You need to fill up my food bowls, damn it!" screaming thing, I'll try and get a video. You really have to hear it to believe it!
So what shall I name a cat like her? Any suggestions??
