Planned to sleep in today, of course. It IS a holiday, after all. Instead, I woke up at 6 AM to the sound of a screaming cat. Been a while since that happened. We had the underside of the house insulated some months ago, so the "Garage Cat" hasn't been able to wake us up by screaming bloody murder underneath the bedroom for a while! This time, I thought it had to be one of our inside cats because the screams were coming from the back screened porch where they live. So I jumped out of bed to go see what horrible thing might have happened to one of them.
Ha!
Flung open the door and there stood the Garage Cat screaming her head off INSIDE the sleeping porch. Apparently she managed to come over the 6-foot chain link fence around the dog yard and then get in through the big not-that-light dog door. Good grief! I thought about just throwing her out into the dog yard and locking the dog door, but then I thought maybe she wouldn't be able to remember how she got in, and then I'd have to worry about how the dogs would react if they saw her inside their yard. (NOT that she probably couldn't hold her own against the whole lot of them!) But instead I picked her up and hauled her through the house and out into the garage where I obeyed her command and filled up her cat food bowls and water bowl completely. NOW can I go back to bed???
She said I could.
