Mark made it home this morning before I left for work. Yippee! On the plus side, Jerry came by last weekend and mowed the grass and weed eated the edges, so Mark wouldn't have to drive up and figure out how to locate the house in the sky-high grass! But on the down side, the upstairs A/C isn't working at the moment, and of course he WILL insist on dealing with that himself instead of just calling the A/C guy. And he also has a number of doctor appointments the rest of this week so it's not exactly time to relax.
He's discovered that a number of his physical problems stem from the fact that his (several) doctors are NOT communicating with EACH OTHER. As a result, they keep prescribing things that do not interact well with stuff the other doctors have prescribed. So he's been online researching those things and is about to have some serious conversations with all of them this week. And THEN he's going to go find himself a doctor at Oschner's where (like Mayo) the various specialists get together and work as a group so things like that don't happen.
When Mark's Mom, who was also diabetic, got really ill at one point, her doctor locally had put her in a nursing home and said there was nothing more they could do for her. One of his sisters who was caring for her got completely bent out of shape and took her to Oschner's in New Orleans where they worked with her for just a short time, after which she got to go back to an apartment of her own and she lived another dozen years or more. So I'm looking forward to a vast improvement in Mark's problems once he gets with them.
Of course, since I waited at home for him to arrive this morning, I WAS a bit late to work, so I guess I better get back to it!
