Busy weekend

Well, it all started with an e-mail I got from the ACTHA telling me that there's going to be a live webcast of the Road to the Horse competition next month up in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  I really wanted to go to that, but the tickets were sold out almost immediately.  No wonder -- the competition this year is between Clinton Anderson, Pat Parelli and Chris Cox.  Wow!  Who WOULDN'T want to see that.  Anyway . . . I'm going to buy that webcast and I definitely want to be able to see it on the big screen TV, but we've never gotten our wireless network at home to work right and even if it did, I have NO idea how to hook up the TV to the network so I can see webcasts on there.

So . . . I called the Geek Squad.  They're coming out tomorrow to fix about 10 different tech problems we've had around here for what seems like forever.  I don't know what they're going to charge, but whatever it is it will be worth it if they can get it all working!

Since one of the things I want them to do is put the big living room TV onto a wall mount, I went online and ordered a TV mount to be delivered tomorrow -- hopefully while he's still here to install it.  (I want to be able to pull the TV out beyond that built-in space and angle it over toward the other end of the room if we're sitting over by the fireplace.)

Then I called Mark to go buy me some flat black paint.  I've been saying for a long time that I want to paint the interior of that space where the TV sits black, but I've never gotten around to doing it.  But if I'm going to paint it, I'll need to do it before the TV gets mounted.  So I'll be painting tonight.  Mark has his doubts about the black paint, but I thought it would look better that way since all the electronics in there are black, and that way neither they nor the cords would be noticeable.  (He didn't like the "black fence" idea either, but it turned out to look really good, so I guess we'll see.)
I think it would look better if the "box" behind the TV were painted black.
(Wouldn't hurt to finally get around to painting the edge trim white to match the rest of the trim either!)
Oh, and the repair guy is supposed to come out later today to fix the TV we bought for the bedroom just a couple months ago.  It just stopped working a few days ago for some reason.  (Toshiba LCD -- FYI).  Our other TV's have been around for years and THEY'VE never had any problems. Just saying . . .

Then once that's all out of the way, we can finally sit down and figure out how the heck to use our new (Droid X) "smart" phones!  I'll tell you what, by the time we're in our 80's I can't even imagine the problems we'll be having keeping up with technology!!!!  Good grief!
