Weekend to date . . .

Well, a guy from the Geek Squad DID come by yesterday and got the wireless network working and the speakers on both our computers working.  But Mark was gone and I couldn't find either of the laptops (sigh) so he couldn't tell me why they wouldn't work on the wireless setup.  However -- since he was not a home entertaiment system expert (he said), he told me they would have to send someone else out to hook up the home theater speakers to the computers so hopefully that person will be able to deal with the laptop problems too since one of them will need to be hooked to the livingroom TV in order to watch the webcast on the TV.  Fortunately, the broadcast isn't until February 25-27 so there should be time to get it all set up.

Mark is going to get Jerry to help him put up the wall mount for the livingroom TV tomorrow because that thing is HEAVY!  I did get the area where it's going to hang painted black and I really like it.  There were a lot of "defects" in there that you can no longer see.

As a matter of fact, you can't even see how deep the space is anymore -- the thing looks like a "black hole," no kidding !!  (Like we haven't had enough problems losing stuff around here without installing a "black hole"!!)

Hey - speaking of lost stuff, while I was searching for the laptops we misplaced, I actually found that handgun that I hadn't seen in almost a year!  (It was in the drawer of a desk we have in the living room but never use.  I don't know why on earth I would have put it in there.  But more to the point, I can't imagine why I never thought to look there anytime over the last year!!   Oh, well -- at least I have it back now.  I was beginning to wonder if I'd accidentally stuck it into a bag of clothes for donation or it ended up in the trash or something!  At least this time I found it just BEFORE I bought a new one and not after.

Mark and Jerry have been working on the barn.  They fixed the drain line that got broken when that backhoe was here grading the property.  The drain had to be done before the stall floors could be finished since it runs under there.  Then after the line was fixed, they re-tamped the gravel in the stalls, added a layer of smaller gravel, put stall grids on top and put MORE gravel on top of the grids and tamped that layer to make it smooth and solid under the horses' feet.   Looks good, doesn't it?
This is Lizzie's stall.  Both Lizzie's and Duke's stalls have two doors to the outside.  Ladybug's has only one because the second exterior side of her stall faces the front porch, not a paddock.

The area at the back of this photo is Ladybug's stall.  There will be a stall divider running across from the center of those  2x4's that stick out on the right where the step stool is.  Bug's stall is slightly smaller than Lizzie's and Duke's, but then so is she!

Now the walls and stall dividers need to be put up and the doors on the stalls put up, and they'll be done.  THEN it will be time to go to work on the tack/feed area.  A ceiling needs to be installed in the tack area so it can be heated/air conditioned/dehumidified.  And we've decided to try and find cheap windows for the porch area so that it can be used for more than just hay storage.  But one thing at a time.  FIRST the horses' spaces.

Took a couple pictures of the dogs the other day.  Gotta love this one:
Almost looks like Joey's praying, doesn't it?  Hmmm.
