Lovely Lizzie --

It's a really pretty day so far.  Going to be hot, though.  It's been 90-ish down here for quite a while now.  But strangely enough, Lizzie hasn't lost ALL her hair and become bald temporarily like she did in spring in the past.  Maybe  shaving her coat when it first started to get warm actually helped!
She actually looks like a "normal" horse again now!  Wow!

Look at that mane.  I've never groomed a horse with hair as heavy as that has become.
It's SUPER thick as well as much longer than it's ever been.

(I cut her forelock back to keep it out of her eyes -
guess I could have let it stay a BIT longer, huh?)

When we first got her, her mane was just a few inches long -- and not all that thick, either.
Here she is meeting Duke (September 2009).

Eventually, her mane did get longer (this was in 2010), but never very long.
But this was before she was diagnosed with Cushings.
Maybe Cushings gives them a heavier mane as well as that fuzzy coat they have in winter - who knows.

You can't really see it here, but her coat is actually looking a bit dappled now, too!

And of course Duke is ALWAYS completely tidy (except his face - which is usually sunburned and grubby in summer):

I'll be going up to Zoilo's place shortly to watch him work with Arthur and see how he's doing it.  I'm going to stop by Jan's place and see if she has time to go over there with me.  They're having their master suite remodeled (wait 'til you see THOSE pictures!), so it depends on whether there's someone there working today or not, I guess.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Arthur again!  This place seems a bit empty - even with Duke and Lizzie - with Arthur  gone.  (Doesn't take long to get really attached to them, does it?)
