So far, so good . . .

Well, it turned out that not only was there actually a problem, there were several problems.  One of Mark's arteries at the top back of his heart is 100% blocked.  And not just one, but TWO other arteries were 80% blocked.  The doctor said diabetics often don't feel the symptoms other people do when that happens.

Anyway, they put a stent in one of the 80% locations and the other will need to be done sometime in the next few weeks.

We went in there this morning at 7 AM and he finally made it out of recovery and into a hospital room at noon.  I'm now back at the office for a few hours, then I'll run home, let the dogs out, feed the horses, and head back over there to the hospital for the evening.  Then tomorrow, I'll come back in to work early, early, early (6 or 7 AM) and then go back over to pick him up and bring him home around 12 or 1.

The doctor who did the cath today says he should NOT go back to work next week.  Apparently it's possible that something can happen with the stent in that first week or two so he needs to be nearby "in case."  So when he has another one done, he'll have to be off for another couple weeks.  Hmmm . . . he's NOT going to be happy.

But I am!  Given all that blockage, I would think that he will be feeling waaaay better once all this is over.  Sure hope that turns out to be the case.  (And I love that he will actually be home for an entire month!)

But now . . . back to work for a while!
