Arthur looking handsome

Well, Arthur got his mane cut tonight - more or less.  He was a little nervous about the regular scissors, so I took some tiny little nail scissors out there.  It took some time, and it's not exactly straight, but it was the best I could do under the circumstances.  He thought I was just petting him and scratching his neck so I just managed to cut it without combing and evening it out.  It would have been a lot faster and probably neater with "real" scissors, but hey -- it's better, huh?

I WAS going to leave it longer and then trim down to his neck in 3" increments like that Fjord picture I posted a few days ago.  But as I cut it, I found that it wasn't going to stand straight up that stiffly.  It didn't really look all that good until I got it a lot shorter than that.  So . . . ta-da . . .

Heeeere's Arthur!  The STAR!

Don't notice his "bangs," okay?  He's still very nervous when I reach up between his ears so his forelock is still pretty tacky.

But he does look cute, doesn't he?
