Tidy horses!

Just got these pictures from Buddy and Lisa.  Here's Lizzie being brushed before she got her bath.  (She LOVES having her ears rubbed.)

This one was before she got bathed.
She already looks a lot better than she used to before those curry's arrived, doesn't she?
And here she is AFTER her bath -- nice and clean!

Once she was clean, Buddy put her fly sheet on her . . .

and turned her out since she was whinnying and carrying on about being locked in her stall.
She had obviously rolled around some by the time I got home this afternoon.  Check out how one side of her sheet is waaay further down on one side than the other at that point.   So I went out there and straightened it up.  There was also a bunch of dirt up on top of her butt.  You probably can't see it all that well in the picture below, but it IS there.  The good part is, it is NOT on her actual butt!  Excellent!
Unfortunately, although that sheet protects her body, her neck and face are already muddy again.  Sigh.
Anyway, by the time I go out to feed them this evening we'll find out just HOW effective that sheet is going to be.  I guess, given the layer of mud on top of her already, I'll end up putting a clean one on her this evening . . . and probably every single day, for that matter -- maybe even twice a day during wet weather.  Sigh.   But then again - maybe she'll get used to the things and stop trying to roll them off.

Maybe.
