Is it February? . . . or June?

It has not only been raining with regularity lately, but it's been warm warm warm for most of this winter.

Hey  . . . let's be more specific.  IT   IS    HOT.  Just got a weather e-mail saying that last night's temperature was a record high "low" for this date -- 69 degrees was as "cool" as it got.  The record high for today was 82, but they're predicting that THAT record will also be broken.

Now I DO love the fact that Louisiana almost never has enough snow to actually cover the ground, and that the roads are never icey, but come on . . . this may be a little too much, don't you think?

I took the horses off their Solitude IGR fly preventive when the temperature dropped below freezing for a few nights a while back.  But that turned out to be a serious mistake.  I'm going to put them back on the stuff TODAY since we not only have flies now, but clouds of mosquitoes and gnats as if it were high summer!  And since that's the case, I have a bad feeling that fleas are going to start multiplying too before long.  Time to treat the dog yard to keep THAT from happening.  The dogs do have flea meds, but the fleas have to bite before they die, so better to try and prevent them than to get rid of them once they're here.

I wonder if there will ever come a time when we have nothing pressing that we really have to get done RIGHT NOW.  Can't even imagine when that might happen.
