I noticed that I hadn't taken many pictures of Boo lately. He doesn't care for being photographed, for some reason -- as you can see below ;-)
But I thought I'd put my foot down and insist he allow me to take some pics. Here he is in the bed outside our bedroom door.
And here he is in his UPSTAIRS bed -- the love seat in the library. He figured out early on that by standing on that love seat and looking out the upstairs window he can see the entire front of the property. After that he seemed to feel that was the appropriate place for a guard dog to relax. So I've cleared the back and arm cushions and covered the thing with a comforter and he's made himself at home.
Isn't he beautiful?
But as soon as he sees that he's being photographed, he looks away or down. Don't know why he hates cameras so much.
While I was harassing Boo with the camera, Mark and Jerry were out putting up the electric fencing around the back. Mark is laughing at me below because he had just finished pretending to get shocked and scaring me to death - when I should have known perfectly well that since the fencing wasn't complete it couldn't possibly be hot. Ha ha.
But the fencing project IS making progress. Mark is going to install all those post loops and tighteners like in the pictures above around all the end posts tomorrow while Jerry is at work. Then Tuesday Jerry is off for Mardi Gras, so he'll be back to help Mark finish up that fence installation. Yippee!!
Once the wires are fastened to those tighteners on each end and pulled taut, then the guys have to go back and put those staples in place on each post. SOUNDS simple enough, but it's extremely time consuming, and it's not all that easy to put those super-long staples in place. On the plus side, it'll take a lot more than a horse running into the fence to pull one of those things loose! And because there will be five rows of electric wire, it SHOULD keep stray dogs away from the horses.
All the recent rains have definitely affected the grass around here -- and everything else down here actually. The azaleas, redbuds, and tulip trees are beginning to bloom and the leaves on the other trees are in bud. Hey - it's SPRING! Mark says he's going to have to make two passes to mow that grass - one at a high level, then again short - to get it cut back to regular height. (It'll be good when there are horses home to help out with the mowing!)
