Got a note from Torri last night. She had talked to the physical therapist at LSU Vet School (Jennifer) and she agreed to begin Joey's treatment this morning! I am SO excited! Don't know if I mentioned it before, but he had surgery on one hip six weeks ago and is only now beginning to use that leg. Still, most of the time he doesn't and the muscles in that leg and hip appear to be atrophied in comparison to the other side. Torri does large animal anesthesia at the vet school and is a friend of Jennifer, the physical therapist. So Torri contacted her and Jennifer agreed to work with Joey right away!
I took him over to the Vet School this morning at 8 and Torri met us there and took us back to the physical therapy department where they have one of those plexiglass things (treadmill?) that gradually fills up with water so Joey can swim to build up the muscles in that hip. They asked if they could shave his hip so they could also do ultrasound treatments. Of course! We are incredibly grateful for anything they can do that will help him recover!

I left my camera with Torri so stay tuned -- photos will follow!
