The first thing they did when Joey went in to LSU today was shave the hip he had surgery on 6 weeks ago so they could do ultrasound treatments. I'm told he was very good about it and that he actually seemed to enjoy the treatment itself. Must feel sort of like a massage.
Then later, they put him on the water treadmill. Here it is empty:
Given that Joey's not good about walking on a leash without being tugged just yet, he had some trouble figuring out exactly what he was supposed to do, but Torri said he eventually seemed to figure it out.
He's going to be going in for therapy on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the next month, so he's bound to figure it out eventually! And it will probably go a long way toward teaching him to walk appropriately on a leash on dry land, too!
When we got home he was still only using that leg part of the time, of course, but when he DID use it, it seemed to me he was putting more weight on it than he has been. So a month of this therapy should do the boy a world of good, I think.
