Joey's first day . . .

Is this boy adorable or what!  He is such a sweetheart.  He IS going to need some obedience training and some additional socialization.   He seems to be a little afraid of anything new or strange (cats?  himself in the mirror?), and his reaction to that is to growl and bark.  But that's understandable.  Much better to growl and bark than to cower and run.  And generally, he's doing just fine.  I'm going to take him to the obedience class at the local dog park beginning in July.  He DOES need to learn to listen, and it can't hurt to learn it in the company of lots of other dogs and people.

Note that in the picture above, he is ensconsed on the livingroom sofa.  Mark NEVER allows any animals on the furniture.  Well . . . he never USED to anyway.

But here is the view I came upon in the livingroom before lunch today.  ;-))   Everyone certainly looks comfy, don't they?

Yep, Joey has definitely been crowned Prince.  And it's not like he isn't aware of it, either!  Look at the expression on his face below.  Looks like he's expecting to be waited on, doesn't it?
But at least he doesn't seem to be inclined to scatter his toys around on the sofa or on the window seat.  Those he's been collecting up in piles on the floor where he sets about systematically dismantling them.
(He really looks like a Weimaraner from this angle, doesn't he?)

Here he is resting up after chewing two of the streamers off Niki's red toy and shredding the cover on the ball.  Apparently, it's a pretty exhausting project.
