Spent yesterday from the time I got off work until dark raking up horse poo in that side paddock. Al is going to have to go to the hospital on Thursday and will be out of commission for a week or so, so he said on Wednesday he would get out his front loader and scrape up all the poo that I have in piles by then so I wouldn't have to haul it out to the dump site in countless wheelbarrow loads. Great! But what that means is that I'm going to be raking up poo every second until then! I don't mind, actually. The weather has been so gorgeous that I really enjoy being out there. Now if I can just keep from getting blisters on my palms I'll be able to enjoy riding in there this weekend without all that poo everywhere. Lovely.
Here are Lizzie and Sugarfoot checking in with each other last evening after I put her back out after her dinner. Look how sweet.
We have a new cat who has moved in over at Al's place. Let's see if our resident skunk lets her hang around. The skunk lives in the space between the back wall of the tack room and the outside wall of the barn. He feels completely free to wander down the aisle, through the stall and into that space anytime he wants to. We all just freeze and wait for him to go wherever he want to go! Don't know how he's going to feel about having a cat around. Hope I'm not there if he takes exception!
Lori spent a while today lunging Pops at various speeds. Unlike my own horses, he will do whatever is asked of him WITHOUT pinning his ears or acting the least bit resentful. Very nice.
I put some more pictures of their session at the end on the "Lori and Pops" page above.
Well, lunch is over. Better get back to work!
