Well, Mark has gone back to work and I am once again "in charge" -- that sounds good, doesn't it? But all it REALLY means is that I get to get up an hour earlier and go feed horses and clean stalls before getting ready for work -- something Mark does for me every morning when he's home. Now normally I love visiting with the horses first thing in the morning, but tomorrow morning it's going to be pouring down rain --- AGAIN. Tomorrow and for the next couple days according to the weather channel. Yuk. I just cannot believe how wet and cold it's been this whole winter. There is absolutely NO grass left in the pastures -- just a giant sea of mud. Poor babies. I keep telling them each time they get drenched yet again that this is absolutely the LAST winter they will have to spend like this. "Next year Jerusalem," as Mark says.
The guy who's working on the barn said he thought he would be done today, but when I came home I found a note saying he didn't finish and he will see me tomorrow. But since it's going to be pouring down rain, he probably won't be able to finish up tomorrow either.
He did get most of the metal trim on the edges of the roof, and the siding installed on the outside of the porch anyway. But he didn't make any headway at all on the inside of the tack room. Well - maybe he can work on that tomorrow while it rains.
The roof looks a lot better now that most of the trim is in place on the edges, doesn't it? Almost looks like a real house! Don't know if the horses will appreciate it all that much, but I do! Can't wait to see the place screened and painted.
