ELMER IS GONE . . .

This is so sad.  I can't imagine how his owner, Mary Anna Wood, must be feeling right now.  She actually owned his mom so they were together since Elmer was born -- 38 years!   Imagine!   It must be like losing a child.  And although she had to know he wouldn't be around forever, I'm sure this was not the ending she would have wished for him.  Still, what a wonderful life she gave him.
