Okay. The "holidays" are finally over. Vickie and John are headed back to DC at dawn tomorrow and it'll be just me and the horses until Mark makes it in on Wednesday. Maybe I'll actually get something done around here -- like vacuming or ironing or something. Maybe.

. . .
Or not.
Just finished reading through the first 50 pages of my friend Janet's new book about Henry Darrow. I really didn't think I would enjoy editing all that much, but I definitely did. Hmm. New things are always good.
Speaking of which, I joined that lumosity.com web site that's supposed to evaluate your mental faculties and then set you up with games to improve your deficits. Unfortunately, when I get time to fool with it, it's always late at night and my "deficits" seem to be even more prominent that usual. At least I tell myself that's why I'm so bad at most of it. I really need to start doing those things earlier in the day when I'm fresher to see if that's really the problem.
Today's "game" involved a series of squares flashed on the screen in various locations within a large box. As each square appears, a voice pronounces a letter. If the square is in the same place as the previous one, you're supposed to hit "S" -- for "square" I assume. If the spoken letter is the same as the previous one you hit "L" for letter.
Now either thing alone would be no problem. But I have a very VERY hard time focusing on both visual and auditory cues at the same time. And I also have a hard time using my left hand for one response and my right hand for the other. Whew! Maybe I should have started this thing when I was a bit sharper -- say 15 years ago or so!
I'm going to forget about it for now and go to bed. Maybe tomorrow . . .
