Hmmm -- we're getting our tax info done elsewhere this year . . .

I've been doing our taxes for more than a dozen years (they've been similar each year -- so it's been incredibly simple).  But now there are SO many new things I'm not sure I know exactly how to deal with them.  First of all, we're retired, so we have to deal with jobs for a few months and retirement the rest of the year.  Second, the house was being paid off after the first few months, but since it was paid off early in the year we won't be able to indicate our taxes for our house payments any longer. And third, we got the solar panels installed on our roof so we're supposed to get a multi-thousand dollar refund from the U.S. AND another refund from Louisiana so we wouldn't have to pay them many thousands of dollars since we could provide them with the refunds.

But it's incredibly difficult to finish the tax set up this year.

I actually tried to complete it online as I usually had done but there were a number of questionable issues.  So we took everything over to the CPA who dealt with it for us way back when.

That solar outfit notified us last month, though, indicating that we needed to send in our taxes before the end of January because they said the state wouldn't provide us with our refund after that time!  But I couldn't deal with it by then because we hadn't received everything from our businesses and savings etc.  Gees!  And I don't know how long it will take the CPA to finish it up either.

Well, I sure hope we don't end up getting so little a refund and having to pay so much that we won't have sufficient 401k savings to last until we die!

Hey -- our relatives better hope for the best as well! . . . I'm sure none of them want us to end up in THEIR home if we run out of money and have to sell our house!   And that would be horrendous since we wouldn't be able to keep our permanent horses if we had to move!

Wow!  I'll sure be incredibly happy once that tax thing gets sent in if we get those refunds back!  But who knows.  Well, I guess I'll just hold my breath and keep my fingers crossed until they send those tax items in.  Sure hope it's going to be SOON!
