GREAT Day!!

To begin with, Gigi is finally back HOME today!  Yeaaaaaa!!  And she is behaving wonderfully.  Is that amazing or what ???!!  I took Joey and Rocky out to Ken's place to be sure they weren't going to fight but they got along just great right from the beginning.  Gigi obviously remembered them both instantly.  So after an hour or so of Ken working with them, they all got into the truck together and we came home by 11 AM this morning, and Joey and Gigi were playing outside here for hours once they got home.

As for Rocky, he came inside as soon as they got home and threw himself down into his dog bed in the bedroom and just rested up in there all day.  Hanging out at Ken's with all those Rotties watching them and sometimes barking at them was exhausting to him apparently.  Poor guy.  Tough day for a 14 year old dog!

Gigi objects to Joe taking her ball away, but she never actually tried to do anything to him.
That's a good thing.

Joey eventually got tired before Gigi did --

Gigi appears to be checking to see why Joe isn't running around with her anymore.

But eventually they BOTH ended up exhausted and for a while there they were laying down together out in the yard.

And eventually they both went back onto the porch and laid down in there and went to sleep for the rest of the afternoon!

I left them out there together until 8 or so when they got their evening meals.  Joey came inside to eat in his crate as he always does and I fed Gigi outside in her crate.  Then once they were all done eating, both Joey and Rocky went out to go to the potty and while they were going out, I let Gigi come in and eventually put her inside Joey's crate for the night.  Then I let Joe and Rocky back in and they went  right over and laid down in their usual beds as well.  I'm about to join them all in there and see how it goes for the night.  I'm hoping Gigi will stay quiet so she can always come in at night and not have to stay outside when it gets cold out there.  But we'll see how it goes.

And also today, Jerry was painting the far side of the barn that hadn't been done previously.  He came over after he got off work yesterday and pressure washed that whole side, as well as the house itself and the porch.  It hasn't rained around here in a week or two at this point, so everything was perfectly dry today and he could go to work painting everything.  As I mentioned, that side of the barn hadn't been painted to begin with, and of course neither had the new porch on that side either.  Jerry's having to prime the new wood, and then it's getting painted that same pale, pale blue color that everything else is.
The blue color paint we use on the barn and hay building is extremely light -- lighter than the blue siding on our house.  But the teal trim color is the same as the trim on the house so from the road they at least look like they're on the same property anyway.
The porch floor is obviously going to have to be sanded before it's repainted.  The pressure wash just made the places where the cat has scraped off the paint more obvious.  But the pressure wash did a fine job on the walls and on the trim anyway.  So now I'm trying to decide what color to repaint the floor.  Maybe a different color will hold up better over time.  Hmmm.
When Jerry gets done painting everything with that pale blue paint, then he'll paint all the posts over at the barn with that dark teal color.  That way when the horses rub their necks against those posts it won't make the paint look as grubby looking as the pale blue stuff does!

I'll have to remember to take pictures of the new paint job tomorrow.  I was so busy keeping an eye on the dogs today that I didn't think about doing that until I started typing up this blog entry!  Too late now!  But tomorrow is going to be another great day.  More pictures coming up!
