GREAT weekend!

First of all, Jerry was here dealing with the landscaping etc. as usual yesterday.  But later in the day he actually picked up and hauled out FOUR wagonloads of horse poo from the paddocks and the pasture!  Back in, I think, around 2009 we asked him to do that but because he was offended by that, he proceeded to leave and we didn't see him again for a couple of YEARS after that -- so we never asked him to do that again.  But yesterday he just got on with it WITHOUT us asking him to do it.  Hooray!!  Jerry comes by when he gets off work for the city at noon on Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday, as well.  So it's great to know we'll probably be able to keep that pasture tidied up from now on!!  What a relief!  We thought Buddy and Lisa would be back to help us for a while, but they actually got new jobs within just a couple weeks so we thought we weren't going to get any help anytime soon.  Thanks, Jerry!
Then last night, Jan and Mike came down and we all went out to eat over at Roberto's just down the road.  Good thing it was close by, because it took them a long time to get here having had to come through all that horrendous traffic that was heading over to the LSU football game last night.  Well, they not only bought us our dinner, but they also gave me this VERY appropriate book for a birthday present! . . .
Now -- I HOPE that before TOO long after Zoilo gets that round pen set up for us next weekend I'll actually be able to seem a part of that listing!
We plan to move that green hay container and the round pen will begin at that post to its right and will go back past those red fence portions that are laying up against that dead tree that needs to be removed as well.  The round pen will be pretty darned large, I hope!  I want to ride in there first, and THEN when I'm comfortable we can go out to ride around the rest of property . . .  but not ' til I'm comfy.  ;-)

Now today, having cleaned up the house and with the yard all mowed and the flower beds tidy, Mark and I get to sit around together doing absolutely NOTHING!
Life is good!
