Mark is going to be having surgery tomorrow instead of Tuesday, he's been told -- but they haven't determined the exact time yet, though.
He had more x-rays and exams today and apparently nothing has changed. They haven't specified WHY he's having surgery, but in all probability they really won't know exactly what's been wrong until he's been opened up so they can look at things directly. That's scaring me a lot, but it does help to know that his sister had similar surgery just a year or two ago and although she also spent quite a while in the hospital, she did get (mostly) over it a few weeks after her surgery - although she does have to eat differently now than she did prior to that surgery. But if it's likely that this will never happen again, eating differently will be no problem at all to deal with so let's hope that's the case!
Well, I'm back home now - about to go out and feed the horses and get to bed early in case his surgery tomorrow is going to be really early. I asked him to give me a call and let me know when it's going to happen the moment he finds out so that I can be there well ahead of time. (Let's just hope they do let him know well BEFORE they come and get him!)
