Well, they got me up at dawn, as usual, but things DID get better as the day has gone on. First of all, given that it's a nice warm dry morning, I decided to stick Gigi out on the sleeping porch with her breakfast and she scarfed it down completely and did all her business out in the dog yard. Yeaaaaa! (It's been pretty darned hard when she eats inside to get her outside soon enough after she eats!)
And while she was out there, apparently Duke decided to just relax and keep an eye on her. ;-D
Of course, what's also obvious here is that Duke REALLY needs a bath -- and a lot of brushing . . . he is FULL of mud. He not only races through that little stream just behind him, he actually rolls around in the mud, too, getting his mane FULL of the stuff! Yuk! But the vet tech who was going to assist me with all those things has apparently gotten herself a different job over at LSU and she hasn't been available. And I don't want to have to deal with that stuff alone just now. All those dogs are giving me more than enough to do right now!
So now it's time to head out to the pet store and the grocery so we can all eat this afternoon! But things definitely ARE getting better than they were a few days back. Thank goodness!!
