I can't get "Patrick" out of my mind . . .

I've gone back to this post on Facebook a dozen times.  I thought Pat, the horse Jan and Mike rescued, looked next to dead when they took him in, but this boy . . .  my God, he really was very close to dead!  I'm astounded that they were able to bring him back.  I sure wish I knew who adopted him.  I'd love to see how he's doing today.  But here is the original story that was posted on Viralnova.com ("Trending Stories on the Web").

Emaciated & Dying Dog's Amazing Transformation

July 25, 2013
When Patrick was found, he was emaciated and abandoned. His cruel owner starved him until he was nearly dead, threw him down a garbage chute that was 22 stories high and left him for dead. A maintenance worker found the poor puppy before he was put into the trash compactor, cold and almost dead.

The City of Newark Animal Control was contacted and ACO Arthur Skinner picked up the dog and brought him directly to the Humane Society. This is about his amazing transformation:
When Patrick was found, he was so badly emaciated he was thought to be dead

His bones stuck out all over his body, his eyes bulged, and he was begging for help.

He was a skeleton of a dog.

He was given fluids immediately; his case was so severe that the vets weren’t sure if he could be saved.

Slowly he realized he was in good hands.
His treatment before was cruel, but it was about to change.

Day by day, he improved.  He gained weight.  He grew back fur, and he began to look like a dog.

Then he was unrecognizable, he looked so healthy.

Here's Patrick the Wonder Dog acting like dogs should.
Thank you to every volunteer and vet that helped restore Patrick to glory; his transformation is unbelievable.

He was given a blood transfusion, a bath and 24 hour emergency care for the longest time. He was named Patrick after St. Patrick; his rescuers thought he was lucky. He should have been dead, but he grew into a happy and healthy dog.

I love the way he turned out!

And you know what else I'd really love to see?  I'd like to see that guy who almost killed him pay for it in some way that would make d--d sure that the idiot would never be able to do that to another animal, ever again!
