New building!

Just got a note from that outfit in Houston that we contacted about a hay storage building.  They will be over to put it up this coming Tuesday - the last day before Mark goes back to work.  That means we will be able to get enough hay for this winter next weekend!  Whew!  What a relief.  We ran out completely and have been buying a couple bales at a time from the feed store for the last month or so.  Mark is on the phone as I speak arranging for Joey Hebert to bring us a truckload of hay SOON.

The new building is going to be 10' X 20' -- plenty of room for a couple hundred bales easily.  And instead of putting the building in back, we decided to put it just inside the front gate to Lizzie's paddock.  That will not only make it easier for him to deliver the hay, it will also make is very easy to get hay out and put it on the barn porch.

You can't see the gate where the hay truck will go through
(it's just to the right of the barn behind that bush there in the center),
but the hay storage building will be inside that paddock
and just a bit closer to the front of the property than the barn is.

The building will be just this side of that tree that's inside the fence there on the left.

We decided to go with a 10-foot wide building rather than 12' so that it won't stick out so far in Lizzie's paddock and should be less noticeable from the road.   It will be on skids, so if we eventually decide it needs to be moved, that will be possible.  But since it IS wood (and not metal), it'll be painted the same blue as the house and barn so it should look okay out there.  I'm really excited about getting it!
