Tired, tired, TIRED!

I have been cleaning out our office all weekend.  I started Friday evening after Lisa and I finished straightening up the house, then again last evening, and today I've been at it again ALL day long!  Whew!  I bought a new (clean) trash can and brought it up here to collect up all the old papers.  When I get done, I'm just going to haul it out to the garage and just leave it in there until Mark gets around to burning all those papers.  I don't want to send  all those private papers out to the dump.  And I SURE didn't want to spend the next month running them all through the shredder.  I'll tell you what -- I hope it occurs to me to update those files a lot sooner than every 6 years next time!  This has been ridiculous!  Only three of the SIX file cabinets in here have been cleaned out and that 55-gallon trash can is darned near FULL.

Oh - and just to make my day really lovely, I've been having to tromp up and down the stairs to take Joey out because I bought the dogs all some really enormous bones for presents, but I gave them to them on Saturday so they wouldn't mess up our company with sticky bones.  Well, Boo licked his off for a while, then carefully buried it in his dog bed.  Rocky chewed on his for a while until it cracked in half, then he went to bed and just let it lay there on the floor.  But Joey? . . .  Joey pretty much ate the entire (HUGE) bone!  That was worrisome enough when I realized it last night, but TODAY he's had the runs all day long.  Sigh.  Don't know what they'll get for presents next year, but it will NOT be giant bones.  At least Joey's won't, that's for darned sure!

Oh - and when I took Joey out to the bathroom for about the 10th time this afternoon, I saw Duke out in the pasture rolling back and forth over and over and OVER!  Scared the crap out of me!  Having had two horses with colic in a single month, I'm not kidding -- it absolutely horrified me!  So I raced back upstairs to get my camera -- I planned to take a video to e-mail to his vet -- but by the time I found the camera and got back out there he was casually strolling around the pasture, grazing perfectly normally.  And I was a complete basket case both from his terrifying me AND from racing up and down those stairs!  Mark - PLEASE come home.  I need you!

But I have to say, I was a lot happier to come back up here and go back to cleaning the office after I got over that.  Dealing with this mess is waaaaay better than hauling Duke to the Vet Hospital!

And at this point (now it's after 8 PM) I AM finished clearing off the TOPS of both our desks anyway.  Maybe when Vickie and John come home tonight John can bring Mark's new computer upstairs for me.  Then I'll be able to set it up and install all the software on it this week before Mark comes home.  I'm not going to disconnect his old computer until I'm sure everything is set up the way he wants it.  But at least everything will be in place and he can start using it right away.  We never transfer anything over to begin with.  Once he decides he likes the new computer, we'll just remove the hard drive from the old one and hook it up to the new one so he can copy what he wants directly.  (The hard drive on the new one is 1 Terrabyte - should be plenty of room for a looong time.)

I sure hope he likes the thing!  But even if he hates the computer, I'm sure he'll love the fact that the office will be tidy for the first time in (literally) YEARS!
