Weekend work day

Looked out the window this morning before I went out to feed the horses and it looked for the world like Duke had convinced the girls that he is indeed their hero and definitely in charge.  He was standing inside his stall with both of them outside looking like they were waiting for his instructions!  Now that doesn't surprise me in Lizzie's case, but BUG !???  Who would have thought!  Wonder how he DID that??

Those cortisone pills really ARE giving me a productive weekend!  I didn't bother to actually bathe the horses, but they all did get brushed out, any bites or anything sprayed and medicated, the girls' ears treated, and Duke's sunburned nose medicated.

Then I went back inside and managed to move the living room furniture around and get that rug out from under the chaise and recliner.  When Marks sits down, he usually doesn't just sit, he more or less throws himself into the chair and it moves back and the rug underneath ends up a wrinkled mess.  So I managed to move everything around and get that rug out from under the seating.  NOT easy.  The chair and chaise were no problem, but you would not believe how much that coffee table weighs.  It doesn't look at all heavy, but it's made of solid steel and probably weighs well over 100 lbs. - even without all those magazines on there!  But now even if the seating moves around it won't matter -- no rug underneath to glop up.

Boo likes that arrangement, too -- lots more room on the rug for him to lay on.  When I was was having my coffee this morning and watching TV there, Boo took advantage of his now non-shedding condition (that new groomer is GREAT) and I let him climb up and join me on the chaise.  (Shhh . . . don't tell Mark.)  He was laying with his head on my shoulder enjoying being petted when the Dogs 101 show began a discussion of huskies.  Uh-oh.

The moment the huskies came on the screen, he looked around at the screen.  (He doesn't generally pay any attention to anything on TV.)
And when one of those huskies began to howl, he turned completely around, his ears went back and he tensed up like he was thinking of attacking the TV!   Wow!  That is SO not Boo!

But it was only the huskies that seemed to disturb him.  When they went on to other breeds, he relaxed and again quit paying any attention to the TV at all.

After their breakfast, I let Ladybug out to graze in front again.  When she's out there, I always go look out periodically to be sure she's not into anything she shouldn't be.  So a little while ago, I looked out and . . . no Bug!  Went out and looked all over the place and could not find her anywhere!  What the heck!?

Once I walked around the entire front, I went back over to the barn to go out in back and see if she managed to get out of the front somehow and . . .

there she was in the corner of her stall.  I had looked into the stall earlier, but hadn't walked all the way past the door so I didn't see her in there and she didn't respond to my calling her.  Gotta wonder if she was actually TRYING to hide from me!  But at least it's a relief to know she can't get out after all!
